2013 School Report

As the year 2013 began, Grace Lutheran School was in the middle of its school year. Our enrollment was 11 students in grades K – 8. Our staff included Janelle Hein, full-time teacher, Ellen Bergstrom, part-time teacher, and Ann Radichel, kindergarten teacher. Kindergarten was held two days/week.
In January we took a field trip to the Minneapolis Institute for Art. This was a great warm up to our student art fair which was held at the beginning of April. April was busy with Iowa Basics Achievement Tests as well as preparing for our school play, The World-Wide Dessert Contest.
Grace Lutheran School began its 2013-2014 school year on August 25 with 10 students in grades 1 – 7. A week into the year our enrollment had increased to 14 with the addition of one new family. At the end of December we were blessed to receive another family who is ready to start with us in January. At the time of this writing, our enrollment now stands at 16. We currently have four 1st graders, two 2nd graders, two 3rd graders, two 4th graders, three 5th graders, one 6th grader, and two 7th graders. It is often a challenge, but a great blessing to be able to serve that many precious lambs.
Our staff remains as a year ago; Janelle Hein teaches grades 1-8 and is a co-principal, Ellen Bergstrom teaches part-time and is co-principal, Ann Radichel, since we have no kindergartners this year, comes in on Thursdays to teach some extra classes, and Pastor Hein offers morning devotions and teaches grades 6-8 in Catechism instruction. Our volunteers include Sue Anne Kirkham, Benno and Barb Sydow, Connie Ahrens, Rona Flesner, Trudy Wales, Sue Nelson, Rick Nelson, Clint and Nyla Welker, Barb and Dan Fleischer, and Bonnie Baker.
Our Lord continues to bless our school, for which we are truly thankful.

John 21:15 Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
