The son of a reverend, Pastor Naumann was born in Minnesota, raised in Alaska, and spent some formative years in Wisconsin as his father served Lutheran congregations in those states. Pastor Naumann met his wife Ashley on a mission trip to Kenya in 2012. They have four children. Pastor Naumann attended Immanuel Lutheran Seminary in Eau Claire, WI from 2014-2017. Upon graduation he served Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Madison Heights (Detroit), MI for 9 years. In 2026, he accepted the call to serve as pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Fridley, MN.

Along with the vocations of husband, father, and pastor, Pastor Naumann enjoys a number of outdoor hobbies including hunting, camping, and running. He has a passion for teaching and working with children and young people, but his favorite part of the ministry is outreach, especially one-on-one Bible study with new people. Pastor Naumann also has a deep empathy for individuals in addiction recovery. He is currently finishing up a Graduate Certificate in Addiction Counseling from Western Michigan University.

Synodically, Pastor Naumann serves on the CLC Board of Doctrine and as the Africa Mission Helper Trip Coordinator. In the summer of 2026, he will be leading a mission helper team for three weeks in the countries of Kenya and Uganda.
