The Invocation
C: (Organ) Amen.
P: You are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as
were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.(Gal.3:26)
C: Here we stand, God help us!
P: He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not
believe will be condemned (Mark 16:16).
C: Here we stand, God help us!
P: According to His mercy God saved us, by the washing of regeneration and
renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through
Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should
become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:5-8)
C: Here we stand, God help us!
P: Therefore we were buried with Christ through baptism into death; that
just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so
we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).
C: Here we stand, God help us!
P: Baptism means that the Old Adam in us should be drowned by daily
contrition and repentance, and die with all sins and evil desires and that a
new man should daily appear and arise, who lives eternally before God in
righteousness and purity. (Luther – Baptism)
C: Here we stand, God help us!
P: The Holy Spirit enabled Luther to stand for Christ: “Unless I am
convinced by Scripture and plain reason, my conscience is captive to the
Word of God, I can not, I will not recant. Here I stand! God help me! Amen!
C: Here we stand, God help us!
P: I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to
salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
C: Here we stand, God help us!
P: For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
C: Here we stand, God help us!
P: The Reformation lives!
C: Here we stand, God help us! Amen.
