Public worship at Grace Lutheran Church is temporarily suspended in response to Gov. Walz executive order through April 5. This will be reviewed as events indicate.
On March 20 the Elders, Chairman, and Pastor met this morning via phone conference. Since the CDC recommended that groups be limited to 10 or less with the President’s “15 Days to Slow the Spread of Coronavirus,” the decision was made to postpone Sunday worship for March 22 and March 29, the next two Sundays. These leaders at Grace will be reevaluating this plan at the end of March.
We will be pulling together a “Sunday Morning Online Package” of spiritually edifying materials for you and your families. The plan is to share this by email on Saturday evening with a link to Grace’s website, FridleyLutheran.org. The hope is to include:
A Sunday morning worship service from the archives
A brief family devotion recorded by Pastor
A brief children’s devotion recorded by Pastor
Materials for a Sunday School lesson
A Bible Class from the archives
As a reminder from what has been previously announced, the following church events are postponed as well:
Bible Class and Sunday School
Midweek Lenten worship services
Lord’s Supper during public worship services
Hospitality
Soup suppers
Easter breakfast
Choir
Note: Pastor is willing to serve private communion upon request. Instruction classes will continue so long as each individual desires to do so. Also, please feel free to communicate with Pastor regarding any spiritual need you may have. His number is 612-408-1635.
Because of this announcement, the calling tree needs to be implemented (pdf attached). Please tell people about these cancellations for March 22 and March 29. But also ask them if they are on the Grace email list or not, or in other words, have they been receiving regular emails with the bulletins and news from Grace. If not, then please ask for their email address and share it with Pastor so that he can include them for important up-to-date information about Grace.
With all that is going on, the LORD is still merciful and gracious. His love never fails in spite of all that we hear or experience.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Blessings,
—
